The Financial Reporting Council (“FRC”) is the statutory organisation entrusted with the statutory responsibilities to conduct independent investigations into possible auditing or reporting irregularities by auditors of listed entities and to enquire into possible non-compliance with accounting requirements by listed entities. Government has proposed amending the auditor regulatory regime which is intended to turn the FRC into the independent regulator of auditors of listed entities and which will significantly increase our responsibilities thereby making this an exciting time to join us.
This position requires sound professional knowledge in financial reporting and auditing. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with at least 2 years’ post qualification experience in audit or audit regulation. Solid technical background in an audit firm, with extensive exposure to financial reporting and auditing and assurance standards and listing rules compliance are a prerequisite.
The role carries a high level of responsibility and the candidate must exhibit independence, motivation and a desire to develop a long term career within a regulatory body. Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese, and interpersonal skills are keys to success in this position.
